Meet our Experts: Irene Villoresi, Senior BIM Technician.
Using BIM Technology.
(video transcript)

I’m Irene, and I’m a senior BIM technician here in Conquip. My role is to create models of the schemes to be able to deliver all the information the client needs to evaluate our propping schemes.

BIM technology is really useful for us because we are able to visualize and retrieve all the information and quantities for our project just from one place and it also helps the clients visualize and being able to pick up how the scheme will interact with the structures.

One project that we recently won, where we played a big role, was Liverpool Street. We modelled the sequence of the excavation with the propping going in, so the client was able to see what the scheme would look like and pick any issues that might arise at a very early stage.

I think that my favourite project I worked on in Conquip is Elephant and Castle. It was my first project, a big one, and it was full of challenges and therefore, it was really interesting.

One challenge that we had was that the project had different changes during the time we were working on it, so we had to react very quickly and collaborate and communicate with the client to be able to deliver our best propping scheme and that was really interesting and I learned a lot.

I enjoy working in Conquip because I am able to bring in my expertise that I learnt in my previous roles and take them to a new level, learning new stuff and growing as a professional.
