Meet our Experts: Larissa Joven, BIM Technician.
Using BIM to create construction drawings and details for customers that require temporary works.
(video transcript)

Hi, my name is Larissa, and I work as a BIM technician for Conquip.

As a BIM technician, I usually work closely with Engineering in our team with our structural engineers. Our team and I produce the construction drawings detailing floor plans that we send out to customers and clients.

BIM helps with easier documentation; we’re able to produce drawings fairly quickly compared to 2D software, so Revit allows us to change floor plan detailing sections all at once without having to change each view and each sheet. Currently, we use Revit, we have certain models in the actual program that help us find out what the lengths are for each prop, and this helps management keep track of how much a wailing beam or each prop will cost.

I really like architecture, and I also really like working with very technical products and technical detailing, so that’s kind of what really interests me in engineering, and I really enjoy collaborating with different industries as well and really able to create and construct new products and new ways to solve real-life problems in construction.
