My name is Milad Farhangnia, and I’m the Head of Mechanical Engineering at Conquip.

My favourite project that I’ve worked on while at Conquip has been the bespoke working platform, we did in partnership with HS2. Based on the site’s limitations and restrictions, we had to design a very bespoke product, while keeping safety at the forefront of our design process. One of the challenges with that project was the requirement to have a roll-on-roll-off roof to ensure that the operators could get on with their daily tasks seamlessly while keeping their safety from falling objects at high priority.

The reason I went into engineering was mainly because it gives me an opportunity to take designs which could be just thought of and make them into a reality. Taking something from concept to full production, including manufacturing, testing and being able to solve a customer’s and operators’ problems or issues on site is greatly of benefit.

What I like about working at Conquip is the team. We come from varied backgrounds, various industries, and we can utilise each other’s experiences to better serve the customer’s needs. On top of that, due to the nature of the industry we’re in, we’re required to rapidly innovate to solve and to meet the challenges on site.
