Conquip Lifting Beam FAQs: Safe, Versatile & Efficient Load Handling

6th, January 2026

Need a safer and more controlled way to handle heavy or awkward loads on-site? The Conquip Lifting Beam is a versatile solution for lifting materials with cranes.

What is a Lifting Beam?

The Conquip Lifting Beam is designed to transport materials that cannot be lifted using a single-point connection or chain sling.

The beam features two attachment points on the top for connecting securely to a crane and multiple lifting points along the underside for attaching drop chains, slings, or lifting accessories.

This allows the load’s weight to be evenly distributed, ensuring safe, stable, and controlled lifting, particularly useful for long, wide, or irregular loads that require balance and precision.

Available in 3, 5, and 7-metre lengths, a standard, Conquip’s Lifting Beams are fabricated from S355 Grade structural steel, CE-marked, tested and certified to Factor of Safety 3, and compliant to BS EN standards and LOLER regulations.

Why choose a Conquip Lifting Beam?

Our Lifting Beams are trusted across UK construction projects for their strength, reliability, and ease of use.

Key benefits:

Improved safety: keeps loads balanced and reduces lifting stress.

Versatile use: suitable for large, awkward loads, heavy items, and those that require multi-point lifts.

Quality design: multiple attachment points on the underside of the beam for a safe and balanced lift.

Built-in stand: prevents fouling of the hooks when it is landed and allows easy access to the attached drop chains or slings.

Peace of mind: tested and certified to a Factor of Safety 3.

What’s the difference between a Spreader Beam and a Lifting Beam?

Different types of lifting equipment and materials often require different lifting methods.

In our blog, you’ll learn how to distinguish between a Spreader Beam and a Lifting Beam—and how to choose the most efficient option for your specific lift.
