27 Commercial Road: Case Study Transcript

Hello, I’m Jeff Ro Knight from Conquip Engineering Group and I’m a technical specialist there.

27 Commercial Road is a very unique site. It’s in a very, very busy area of London. It’s in All Gate District. We’re next to a live tube station. There’s absolutely no set down area on the project at all.

What was unique about this was the geometry to the project. It’s a very unique shape.
It’s a very tight site with a lot of force and a lot of pressure from the ground, but in a very, very small space. So it was a real challenge. We got involved at a very early stage in designing the prop. So we worked closely with Ardmore’s structural engineer.
They had an outline scheme for this project, and we kind of took that and developed it.
It looked at ways in which we could value engineer it, how we can make it slightly easier to install, which was a big factor here.
The site is so tight. Installation time was absolutely critical, so we really focused on that.

Hi, my name is Daniel Boian, construction manager for Armor Down at 27 Commercial Road. I work for Armor Construction for the last 15 years. We’re in the middle of building a hotel, 21 stories, two basements. As you can see behind me, a lot of temporary works done by conquip.
Everything from the design and installation, conquip were great.
We made a good team, a team that I can recommend to anyone.
I do have them here, as you can see, and I will definitely have them in the future.

The relationship between conquip and Ardmore is such a success because of the integration we have with our project team. Conquip tries to align itself with the client.
