3 steps to take – our guide to equipment safety, usage & compliance

27th, June 2024

We regularly talk to our customers about our extensive inspection and equipment maintenance services and we believe we take a number of vital proactive measures to do as much as we can to help our variety of customers working on infrastructure, groundworks, built environment and housing developments projects, ensure that their equipment and site practices comply with HSE requirements.

The measures we take

  • As the OEM, all Conquip equipment has an extensive user guide available, with versions available on request for older equipment.
  • As part of our user advice across our range, where it applies, we strongly advocate for pre-use checks by competent, trained persons – prior to each usage of equipment. This is particularly important for lifting kit, excavator and forklift attachments.
  • We manufacture best-in-class, best-in-market equipment, design engineered and manufactured in-house, solving key safety issues in the industry, including but not limited to our Concrete Column Skips, Concrete Washout System, Crane Forks Cage, CantiDeck temporary loading platforms, fully-electric bulk excavation skip – Smart-Release BulkX, 12-person Access Cage, XXL Lifting Cage, Adjustable Lifting Beam – and many more.
  • We offer a wide range of after-sales services including inspections, repair and refurbishment, spare parts and training.
  • We offer on-site training courses for groups of site operatives on our Concrete Column Skips, Trench Shoring, Concrete Washout System, BulkX, CantiDeck, Powerbrush Forklift Sweeper and we are willing to train competent operatives on how to carry out daily checks to ensure safety is maintained.

3 step guidance from Conquip

  1. It’s vital that pre-use equipment checks are carried out by competent, trained persons, where the equipment requires those checks
  2. Please refer to Conquip’s published user guides, available on every product page of our website, prior to operatives using our equipment
  3. Make sure that all relevant equipment is inspected, in current certification according to LOLER and PUWER requirements, and repaired or refurbished if needed by our Conquip Covered after-sales team. LOLER inspections should be completed on all lifting equipment every 6 months or less. A PUWER inspection is required every 12 months or less, to assess if equipment is fit for use and can be operated and maintained safely. Whichever inspection you need, our in-house engineers will visit your site and issue your Report of Thorough Examination in an easy to use, digestible document. Plus, with Conquip Covered, you will receive reminders for when your next inspection is due. For more information, please read our FAQ blog. The Conquip team are always here to help keep your workers safe, operating compliant equipment.
