Benefits of Reusing Water

Positively impact the environment and project costs by reducing the volume of fresh water required.

From protecting the levels of local, natural water resources and reducing the volumes of fresh mains water unnecessarily used in construction processes to slashing operational costs and minimising wastage, the benefits of treating and saving water are extensive.

Provides a place to wash site personnel’s footwear before entering clean zones. A fully bunded sump prevents cross-contamination to the ground. Grey water or fresh mains water can be used.

Benefits of Reusing Concrete Wastewater

Treat, store, and re-purpose neutralised wastewater from concrete washout.

Conquip’s range of concrete washout equipment ensures treated wastewater can be reused as grey water for further washout, washing non-concrete equipment, or a range of other uses on-site.

When using the concrete washout solutions, water is reused and recycled in a continuous process, significantly reducing the demand for fresh mains water and minimising waste, with 90-100% of water able to be reused. Plus, if they are used with filtration bags, this reduces the suspended aggregates to be filtered out.

Once the wastewater is back in the storage tank and treated with a pH neutraliser, it can be reused as grey water in the following areas:

New Concrete batches: Once treated to a neutral pH and free from suspended solids, water can be used as make up water for new concrete batches.
Washing equipment: The water is suitable for washing concrete skips, mixer chutes, pump lines and other equipment.
Wet curing: The water can be utilised for the wet curing of fresh concrete structures.
Stockpile Damping: The water can be used for dust suppression, damping down of stockpiles, or for sweepers to clean the roads on-site.
Jet washing: On some sites, the water is used for cleaning lorry wheels of mud before they go onto the public highway and for cleaning construction plant and machinery.

Concrete Washout Solutions

The Concrete Washout System and Compact Concrete Washout Unit can both store treated wastewater. These closed-loop systems allow the treated wastewater from the storage tanks to be reused. The filtration bags capture the heavy aggregate during washout. Once solidified, this concrete is no longer harmful to the environment and can be safely disposed of with other building waste.

Compact Concrete Washout Unit

A complete concrete wastewater processing system, where the water is recycled, treated and either retained for reuse or safely disposed of.
